Whether you're a swiftie or just a casual listener, there's one thing we can all agree on - Taylor is a storyteller and it's one of the reasons she is the music industry. After months of listening almost exclusively to her songs and attending THE Eras Tour, it is inevitable that I make my own list of Taylor Swift songs as books. Enjoy my recs!

 

"Back To December" - Persuasion by Jane Austen

This is my absolute favorite second chance romance and while they might not get back together in "Back To December," I think the essence of the song rings true to the book.

"Love Story" - Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

Is this too on the nose? Probably. Young, forbidden love with a twist on the tragedy, and in my opinion, a much better ending.

"Delicate" - Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Reputation screams enemies to lovers. Take Violet's reputation and the fact that half of her quadrant wants her dead coupled with some romance, and you've got "Delicate."

"Exile"/"Lover" - Happy Place by Emily Henry

These are obviously two very different songs but when you think about the multiple timelines in Happy Place, it definitely fits both.

"Daylight" - It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

"Daylight" is exactly how I picture Lily's perspective of Atlas and her complicated life.

"The Lakes" - Beach Read by Emily Henry

Of course Lake Michigan, the setting of Beach Read, relates to "The Lakes." And while things start off rocky for January and Gus, their love story feels like the auroras and sad prose vibe Taylor craves in this song (one of my favorites!!).

"Speak Now" - We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

I don't want to spoil the finale of the Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy, especially because it seems like a lot of people are new to the books because of the show. But let's just say, this song definitely gives Summer.
